Visiting students typically enroll in courses for personal enrichment or professional development, but it is also a way to experience Metro State without fully transferring. This option is for students who are not seeking a degree.

Visiting application deadlines:

• Summer—April 22
• Fall—August 1
• Spring—December 1

1. Apply with Minnesota State’s undergrad application. Complete all required fields. In section 6 of the application under “educational intent”, select the option Complete courses and transfer without a degree. Please allow 2-3 business days for processing.
2. Once your application is complete, you are ready to register for classes! Sign into to view the course catalog. Gateway Student Services is your first stop for everything from registration, registration overrides, and payment.
3. Register for classes during open registration. Visiting students at Metro State are not eligible for financial aid. Tuition payment must be arranged the same day as registration to prevent being dropped from your classes.
4. If you later decide to pursue a degree, or would like to transfer to Metro State, you will need to as a degree seeking student.
