NURS 333 Skill Foundations III

This clinical and lab course is a continuation of Skill Foundations II focusing on holistic nursing assessment and intervention skills foundational to the delivery of safe, high-quality, equitable, and person- and family-centered nursing care for diverse clients in a variety of care settings. Students will demonstrate mastery of the nursing clinical judgment, psychomotor skills, and patient care technologies related to care of pediatric and perinatal clients.

Learning outcomes

General

  • Apply nursing process, prioritization, clinical judgment, Modeling and Role Modeling nursing theory and developmental frameworks to provide safe, effective, evidence based, holistic, family centered care to perinatal and pediatrics populations.
  • Utilize effective professional communication to develop a trusting and therapeutic caring relationship with the client and their families and within interprofessional teams.
  • Incorporate health information technologies to patient care within healthcare setting.
  • Conduct a holistic health assessment and focused health assessment in an organized and thorough manner and distinguish between normal and abnormal findings.
  • Demonstrate select nursing skills to safely care for perinatal and pediatric populations.
  • Respond to developmental needs in the care of the clients and their family across the care continuum.
