Rassule Hadidi

Biography

Dr. Rassule Hadidi serves as the dean of the College of Business and Management at Â鶹ֱ²¥. Before joining Metro State, he was a professor and head of the Department of Management Information Systems at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS). He holds a PhD, MS, and BS from the University of Missouri–Columbia, as well as a BS in Mathematics and Statistics from Shiraz University.

With more than four decades of progressive academic leadership experience, Dr. Hadidi has played a central role in developing innovative degree programs and certificates across face‑to‑face, online, and blended formats. He pioneered online education at UIS, creating the university’s first fully online graduate course in 1997 and directing the launch of its first fully online graduate degree program in 1999. His expertise in digital pedagogy has led to keynote invitations and workshops in several countries, including China and Taiwan.

Dr. Hadidi’s research spans online and blended learning pedagogies, curriculum development and quality assessment, healthcare informatics, healthcare data quality, cloud computing, and the use of AI in teaching and learning. His contributions have been recognized through multiple awards, including the First Hanson Professional Services Faculty Scholar Award (2007) and the Faculty Excellence Award (2016) at UIS.

A committed academic citizen, Dr. Hadidi has extensive governance, service, and recruitment experience, including multiple student‑recruitment visits to India. He has authored more than 70 peer‑reviewed publications and delivered over 70 presentations at national and international conferences. He is an AIS Distinguished Member – Cum Laude, a past president and at‑large director of the Midwest United States Association for Information Systems, and the founding and current managing editor of the Journal of the Midwest Association for Information Systems. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Society for Advancement of Management and was recognized by Marquis Who’s Who for Excellence in Education in 2023.
